comfortable stay

despite of my over the phone booking they have given my requested room to another guest and denied my booking.
so i have to get another room for different price.
but otherwise hotel is comfortable, clean and worth for the money i have spent. ggod spacious room and delicious food. service was reasonable with friendly staff.

Good Lunch with Live Music

We were brought by our driver/ guide here for lunch after visiting Royal Botanic Garden. The Sri Lankan Buffet lunch looks good with LKR900 ++ per person. But it was too much for us, hence we ordered a la carte instead. We ordered a big bottle of Gurkha Beer, Grilled Half Spring Chicken and Devil Chicken. Total damage was LKR1,810 which was relative higher for Sri Lanka standard. Overall, the food was good with good ambience with Musician walking around for live music. Nice dining experience...

Beer and Bites

Pork, Beef and Mutton fry were excellent with green chillies, tomato and cucumber. Lion Lager was well chilled. A great way to end a day at the Royal Botanical Gardens. Our steward Ashan was very pleasant, friendly, and efficient.

Some days good, some days bad

We had lunch and breakfast few times in the past year. Some days the food was good, and some days very bad.
Some of the staff members are friendly and some are not very much. Even with the friendly staff members, we saw a lack of training. They didn't seem to know what they are supposed to do, and how they are supposed to act. It would be better to give them a good training.
For lunch, they some times give a decent collection of food items and sometimes the number of items reduce to few items, and they don't bother in replacing. This is same with the breakfast as well.
The food is dry most of the times and this has to be improved. Sometimes insects (ants) roam around food, and please stop this.
Cleaning can also be improved in the hotel

Don’t go there for a parties

Staff is very kind except the duty manager. I have booked it for a party and they promised me to have it around 11pm. But at around 10 past 10 duty manager suddenly appeared here and forced our one guest to time was up and so leave. Meals and other services are good enough.
