The most amazing experience, with exceptional service

I don't really know how to start this review, the service and experience we had at the Manor House Inn was beyond anything I could have expected. They made a special day into something absolutely unforgettable.
We stayed at the pub on Monday, and I had booked a room to stay after proposing to my girlfriend. I had asked the hotel before arriving if it would be possible to arrange some sparkling wine to be in the room before arriving, which they said they could help with. When we arrived we were taken to a beautiful room with a bath. I was later told this was a complimentary upgrade and that the sparkling wine was also complimentary and they wouldn't let me pay for it. The generosity to help make our day more special was beyond anything I could have asked for.
We had dinner downstairs that night and Jane who had helped with the checking in and helped get us seated for dinner was amazing,even went and got a candle for our table to make it a bit more romantic. Every member of staff went above and beyond and they were all so warm and friendly.
Food and drink was incredible, really great quality and tasted amazing. They even brought over a little chocolate tart for us to share with strawberries in a heart shape on top.
The bed and room were really comfortable, the bedding and towels were soft and high quality, the bed was huge and comfortable. The coffee in the room was also a highlight, really nice fresh coffee for the french press in the room.
Breakfast in the morning was also amazing, really lovely atmosphere, the team working in the morning were also really friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we wanted or more. The local apple juice was a particular highlight, absolutely incredible.
I can't remember ever being treated this well in a hotel, and think it's unlikely anything else could match this experience for me. We will definitely be back, and would love to explore some of the other pubs in the Chickpea group.
Thank you so much to Jane and everyone else at the Manor House Inn for a truly special stay, I can't thank you all enough for making our special day even more special.

Where were the crispy roast potatoes?!

Disappointed in their Sunday roast, particularly as they had a blackboard outside saying crispy roast potatoes. The 3 potatoes I had were tasteless and looked more like a boiled potato. I really didn't like that they put the horseradish sauce on the plate....I hate the stuff so I had to scrape it off. Whenever I have been out for Sunday lunch, sauces are always served separately. When they brought out our plates I said to my friend that they would be bringing out the veg in a dish but then she pointed out it was under the meat. What a measly amount of veg it was! There again tasteless. I did eat it all because I was hungry but the serving was too small and I still felt hungry at the end of it. I did think about having a pudding but as the main course hadn't impressed me I decided against it.

We had a good greeting when we arrived and were shown to our table in the skittle alley. Unfortunately it was so dark that we couldn’t read the menu so used the torch on our phone to read it!
There were some lovely touches included like a large cloth napkin, fresh bread and oils.
Unfortunately the service wasn’t great with our main meals not being ordered, lots of repeated questions and slow in clearing the table.
The food was ok but nothing special for the price of it.

Fantastic stay, lovely small village perfect to be able to unwind and relax.
Staff were Fantastic, very friendly. Whole place was extremely clean! And after working in hospitality for over 20 year. I have to say, you couldn't really as for much more than what this place has to offer. Highly recommend!

We visited for ou anniversary and everything was perfection. Amazing food, lovely team, and the room was so perfect. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area.
