Immaculate, top quality guesthouse!
We booked a 1 night stay at Ashberry Guesthouse as we were doing a charity walk around Lake Ullswater. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were met with the host who directed us to the private car park at the side of the guesthouse. We then checked in and were shown around the guest house and to our room. My first impressions were that this guesthouse was immaculately clean, and there was everything you could possibly need. Downstairs is a living room area with TV and board games, and a dining area for breakfast. Our room featured a large kingsize bed, wardrobes and drawer storage space, hairdrier, tv and tea and coffee making facilities. There was also a desk fan, but we didn't need this. The en-suite in our room had toilet, sink and shower, towels and good quality toilet roll. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was included, and in the morning, we were pleasantly greeted by the hosts who showed us a plentiful breakfast menu, including cereals, fruit, pastries and cooked items. We could choose anything we liked! We opted for cooked breakfast with tea, coffee and toast. This arrived quickly and was cooked to perfection, setting us up for a long day walking in the Lakes. The guesthouse is located about 13 minutes' drive from Pooley Bridge where you can access Lake Ullswater and there are pubs and some shops. There is a petrol station and shop over the road, and 24 hour petrol station 2 minutes further down the road. The location is perfect for anyone wanting to explore this part of the Lakes. It was absolutely clear to see that the hosts take great pride in their guesthouse, and I would 100% recommend this place to anyone visitng the Lakes. Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Top class B&B
We were on our way to Ulverston to rehome a dog so to break our journey we stayed over in Penrith for one night. This B&B is literally the best one I have ever stayed in and over the years there has been many! Every thing about Ashberry was excellent, the location, so easy to find, the decor is very classy, no wild carpets or chintz anywhere to be found. Our room (3) was very spacious with a huge bed and lovely bathroom. The whole place was spotless, not just clean, it was beyond clean! Our hosts were just the loveliest people and took a real interest in all of their guests, the breakfast offerings were top class, so much choice and all cooked perfectly. I wish we could have stayed longer. We will certainly be back when we are next over that way Thank you Phil and Vanda you deserve all the success in the world

A little gem
Attended a function in Penrith. My wife & wife stayed at Ashberry for one night.
Absolutely fantastic accommodation & hosts.
Guest House is very well presented, well maintained & decorated. Has a small car park at side of property for guest parking only.
Our room was on the front. Lovely comfortable bed, small sized pine wardrobe and small table. Free wi-fi. Bottled water,Kettle, tea/coffee & biscuits in-room. Small wall mounted TV.
Very homely feel, very relaxing.
Breakfast provided is first class in both quantity & quality.
Hosts are very attentive & helpful.
Located in easy access for town and the A66 & M6.
Will definitely stop there again and have no problem in reccommending this Guest House. Top quality throughout.

Fantastic Guest House - up there with the best !
Stayed one night here - couldn’t fault it in any way.
Great position just on the edge of town - a short easy walk into town for food/drinks without moving
the car.
We had a double room at the front of the house - it was quiet despite leaving the windows open at night.
The room was lovely - comfortable, modern, spotlessly clean, superb shower and very nicely decorated and furnished.
Breakfast was excellent - a good selection of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereal, toast and preserves. Also plenty of choice for the cooked breakfasts - I had scrambled egg and smoked salmon which was beautiful. My husband is rather fussy about how “ruined” he likes his bacon and his toast but it was ruined exactly as ordered! Perfect for him.
There is a car park which is also a big plus.
Phil and Vanda were both so very helpful and friendly. We will definitely go back if in the area - wouldn’t consider anywhere else now.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Warm, friendly, comfortable and clean, and the breakfast is delicious. Hosts Vanda and Phil are charming and ever-helpful, with amazing knowledge of the surrounding area and further afield. If we ever pass this way again, we will stay here.
