Worst management

I stayed at Manor House Brickly for 3 days, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The condition of the rooms was completely unacceptable and nothing like what was advertised. The toilet would not flush properly, the cold water taps did not work, and the water issue was so dangerous that I actually burned myself.
Despite complaining several times, nothing meaningful was done to fix the problems. We also paid for breakfast for all 3 days, yet on the final morning we were denied breakfast completely. On the other two days, the quality of the food was poor and nowhere near an acceptable standard.
To make matters even worse, the manager’s response to my email complaint was shockingly rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Customer service was clearly non-existent.
The noise throughout the stay was unbearable. Loud parties and constant disturbance meant we were unable to sleep properly for all three nights. What should have been a comfortable stay turned into an exhausting and stressful experience.
I would strongly warn anyone thinking of booking this place to reconsider carefully. Based on my experience, I would never stay here again and cannot recommend it to anyone. Think twice — or even a hundred times — before spending your money here.

Lovely hotel, no expense spared on touches of luxury in products provided. Polite welcoming staff and good food. Good location and parking.

Issues with my wedding in August 2025

Had my wedding here in August 2025, would not recommend. We were asked to write a review, so here you have a transparent one.
The grounds are beautiful and two staff (Vee and Sarah) try their hardest to make your day special, but due to poor management & running of the venue, it’s out of their control.
We booked the venue in Nov’23 with Craig We had hardly any contact from the venue until we chased them for a sit down in Dec’24, to go over our day and start planning the schedule. This was a continuous issue throughout, as they had poor comms & structure. We’d continually have to chase them for a reply to emails.
Going back to summer’25, we attended the venue for food tasting to start working out our wedding breakfast menu. Louis (may be spelt incorrectly) kindly offered my now husband wine to taste, he explained that he doesn’t drink as he’s sober, but I’d be tasting it. Louis continued to ask him to taste the wine three more times, leading to us becoming frustrated with his lack of understanding. There was no awareness as a waiter.
Then we had multiple guests becoming frustrated with the venue when calling to book rooms after Aug’24. They were either rudely told the venue doesn’t take bookings on a weekend, wouldn’t received receipt for rooms booked or had to go in circles with Gabi via telephone call to book a room. We had to intervene on this and advise Gabi of names of our family members who had been trying to book a room with her, to sort it out.
It created unnecessary stress to us, with Gabi providing them false info that they couldn’t book a room.
Another time, when my husband called & spoke to Graham directly about the issues with rooms being booked; he decided to advise that we had made a “world record for payments” for our wedding. What a disgrace, considering Graham had actually misallocated our payments and had we not picked up on this, who knows what we’d have ended up overpaying. I would have been apologising for this, not making a joke in poor taste. Poor comms.
When chasing the venue up on our misallocated payments & again having no comms from them on this, Gabi decided to advise me another bride had sadly had a miscarriage and they were all dealing with this. I have compassion for this but was horrified at Gabi’s unprofessionalism at advising me of this sensitive information.
Throughout the process, we were chased up for our suppliers info etc. up until the beginning of Aug’25, our suppliers advised us the venue still hadn’t made contact with them and we were yet again asked for their details.
We then submitted our food order/seating etc by 30/6/25. On 4/8/25 I was again being asked for this. No plan had been made, no food order and we yet again were left feeling extremely stressed about how the day would the out with such poor structure from within. We had a few allergies to cator for as well, which had to be a rushed decision due to the above and no comms that our food order was in.
Come to the 15/08/25, the night before the wedding. I arrived at the venue at around 4pm, my MOH had arrived a few hours prior for check in. I was told the room I booked for the night before hadn’t been cleaned properly and was being sorted still. We then went up to our room, which still hadn’t been cleaned properly and had pins all around it. My MOH spoke to Louis about this. His response: “what would you like me to do about it?”. Sarah then came to help and ended up taking the hoover herself to clean up the mess.
We then done a run through for the aisle music and order for the big day. The music equipment didn’t work, no staff member showed us how to use either. This was an issue until an hour before our ceremony & the music cut out whilst I walked down the aisle. simple details that shouldn’t have been missed.
We had bought a number of items of our own decor and returned to the venue on 17th August 2025 to collect our leftover cake. To my shock I saw the venue were using my wedding decor for another smaller event they were hosting that day. We cleaned up the morning after to remove all our belongings, why take them?

Stunning

The Manor at Bickley is in a stunning setting. The hotel has a lot of charm. It is spotlessly clean. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you need. The reception and hall ways are stylishly 'old world'. Breakfast has a good menu of most anything you would want and the service is friendly and attentive. I can recommend the Cappucino which is available as standard. The restaurant is bright and inviting with lovely views over the impeccable garden. The dinner menu is varied and I had probably one of the best lasagna's I've tasted. Immediately outside at the front is a covered area with seats, cushions and throws for sitting and taking in the view of the garden which must be lovely in slightly warmer weather. I can imagine this hotel makes a spectacular venue for events and if I was in the market for a venue and lived nearby I would definitely use it. I had to stay somewhere local twice this month and went to this hotel on both occasions as I enjoyed it so much the first time. I doubt it will be my last!
