The jewel in kinross

Well my wife and I have been travelling around Scotland and found this jewel of a hotel, with amazing staff and the rooms lovely and comfortable. To top of our stay the food was amazing
We found the hotel to be very central to all the places to visit

Excellent food and service

My family took me here for birthday dinner, excellent service and food, they were especially helpful as one of our party has food allergies and they were well versed in the necessary precautions and food alternatives to offer.
Excellent value for money and very helpful staff.

Really friendly and helpful

My husband and I stayed here for two nights. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, including the owners who we saw frequently; they really went out of their way to assist in ways I would never have expected. The room was large and clean, and felt modern while still having the charm of an old building, including sloping floors! It had all the facilities you would need and the bed was very comfortable. I was unfortunately woken by squeaky floors in another room, but I have that issue in our own house too!
The meals were great. Not a huge number of options for me as a vegetarian but those options were interesting and very tasty. We decided to eat there on the second night too, rather than go elsewhere in the town, which speaks for itself. The breakfasts were also perfect, and the service was second to none.
Very happy we choose this hotel for our stay in Kinross. Thank you
I also recommend the Unorthodox Roasters coffee shop in town, who also supply the hotel, and the ember bus (coach) to Edinburgh (book online for a cheaper price).

Disappointing lunch

Disappointing lunch!
We have used this venue a lot for food with family and friends over the years, and have to say that this is the worst experience I’m afraid.
Staff were welcoming and we had a nice table, and chose the small plates menu, 2 had soup which was tasty, I had croquettes which were quite nice, my friend had the squid which she enjoyed, then I had the terrine, 2 of us had the salad, my husband had the prawn cocktail which were all pretty tasteless, we did mention this to staff as we left most all of the salads o& they apologised!
We had two large glasses of wine & a soft drink, and when we went to pay I tried to use my live active card which offers 10% off food only to be told that as we had 3 small plates we didn’t qualify for the discount.
I’m afraid I’ll be trying other restaurants in future

Perfect early evening food for large family group

The setting was great. The food was good quality at reasonable prices. The staff were excellent and could not do enough for our large group in excess of 15 plus 2 babies.
Thanks again to Shona & staff for a job well done.
