It was a fantastic stay. The garden and river view was wonderful and the room was fantastic. I will definitely stay again.

Great little place

Spotlessly clean. Everything you need for a short break. Comfortable bed, lovely shower . Plenty of cereals,bread jam,milk for breakfast. There is an air fryer and a microwave if you fancy cooking . View is amazing. The hosts James and Kate are available if there is anything you need. Local pub The Bush is next door. Parking no problem. We have stayed in both Hannah Scotts Cottage and Riverside and both are excellent

Everything we needed for a short stay. Very clean. Comfortable bed and lovely view. Plenty of options for breakfast.

HIDDEN GEM

I'm here at the moment, and I've got to say, I absolutely LOVE this place. It's a hidden gem. Close enough to the city and sights but remote enough for some much needed R&R.
I'm staying in the Riverside cabin and it's so quirky. You have the privacy of a self catering accommodation but with the convenience of a B&B.
In the room you have good quality furniture and and a comfortable bed. Good size bathroom with shower. Microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment, air fryer (cool eh?), toaster and kettle with your usual cutlery/tea/coffee. But what makes it a bit more special is the wonderful healthy food that's left for you. Oranges, apples, bread with some spreads, good selection of cereals, yoghurt and milk. Great hot drink selection.
Also in the room is plenty of blankets if you want to sit outside, binoculars, fishing rods, torches, books, hairdryer. Very good quality towels (important to me) and some lovely complimentary toiletries.
Outside there is a private garden! Little patio area with a table and chairs, then onto a beautiful lawn leading down to some decking that's literally on the river Wensom. It's so picturesque, you can't help but feel relaxed.
I will say that the washing up situation can be a bit tricky. Use the measuring jug and the bathroom hot water as that's how you'll get anything you need immediately clean but I'm pretty sure the hosts will provide anything you need.
I wish I could spend more time here. I'll definitely be coming back. Can't rave about it enough.

what a charming little cottage for a weekend getaway in a great setting

what an absolutely charming place to stay . we stayed in the Hannah Scott's Cottage annexe which was lovely ...Bear in mind though that this is a very old cottage so the ceilings and doorways are a little low ! I was ok (5'10") It was so cosy and we had lots of rain during our stay which made it bearable to stay indoors for a while . there is ample parking and a lovely garden with waterfront seating ! we didn't see our hosts (James & Katie) but they responded to calls and messages immediately.. the place was spotless and the amenities adequate . the bed was comfortable and we felt quite at home ! a breakfast hamper was there and filled with lots of goodies ! fresh milk and juice and yoghurts in the fridge . Toaster,microwave and an air fryer too !! a perfect place for a couple for a weekend getaway ! will definitely want to come back !
