An air of confidence

Crisp, bright and workmanlike. Enter off the Monarch's way the space is both cavernous and cosy. The toilet corridor has been dressed with photographs of the village when the street was flooded by the river. Oh to lunch today with feet immersed in water.
The menu is adequate.
Service is good.
We snacked on one course with the intention of returning to spend more time on the fayre

Disabled and solo traveller - I felt discriminated

The Castle Inn Hotel looks lovely and the village is old and interesting. I did not enjoy my one night stay mainly due to a poor experience at breakfast. I have mobility difficulties and was on my own, and had asked for breakfast at 8.30 when booking in. However at 8.30 the next morning I was told the breakfast room was full. Instead they told me to sit in the dining room on my own and when I asked for coffee I was told to get it from the machine. The table was not laid up for breakfast, and I couldn’t carry coffee from the breakfast room. I felt isolated in the dining room as if discriminated because I am disabled and a solo traveller. When booking out I suggested this could have been handled better if I had been given a cup of coffee and asked if I minded waiting for a table to become free. I have not received an apology.

Great air con in the heat!

The staff ;)

This is our second time we have come back! And we are going to book the third time soon!
Firstly, this hotel is amazing! Super clean and the decor is just nothing but a touch of class.
But regardless the staff are 10/10 super friendly, bubbly everyone makes you feel super welcome , and everyone really makes sure you have a great time.
The rooms are spotless, and there’s plenty of space! And I love the beams in the ceiling.
Carri you are nothing but a ray of sunshine! I hope the hotel keep you as your made for this job! This young lady has gone above and beyond, and the hotel really wouldn’t be the same without you! Keep smiling and keep being you! You have a great personality and we love you!

The room was in the annex and the basement. It was clean and well maintained had tea and coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good
