Horrible sent defuser in lobby!!
We have stayed here a couple times and it really is a great hotel. I do have to say, they have a sent defuser in the lobby that is so strong I went to sleep at night smelling like it. I don’t remember it form my last two stays. It was so strong I basically ran to the elevator each time I walked in. It was like walking past an .Abercrombie store!!

Good rooms, good price great location.
Does exactly as it says in the desciption. If your looking for a central city hotel thats close to the main church then this is the one for you. Breakfast as to be expected is not great but it does the job. Staff helpful room very good for the price.

Fun & Relaxing Stay
We stayed here at The Ambassador Hotel for a few nights during the festive Parade which is local to Tacloban. The Hotel is centrally located and very close the Catholic Church (just down the street). The rooms are clean and the A/C worked just fine as the days are pretty darn warm during the June & July. In the morning, we ate at the Breakfast Buffet which was just okay. Not a whole lot to choose from. Bathroom is fine - perhaps just a little small, not much counter space. The staff is friendly. I do recommend this Hotel in you plan on staying centrally.

Highly recommendable, with a classic twist
We had a good night's rest.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
The front desk officer on duty April 21-22 is commendable for his understanding and consideration when we reported late the problem with the toilet bowl.
Rooms are clean with modern and functioning amenities with fresh towels and warm bed linens. There is no bad smell at least.
The only thing I frown on (sorry) is the long wait for the free breakfast.
Dining hall needs upgrade and put more tables and chairs.
I suggest to beautify the back lot into a baywalk type garden or pateo with play pens perhaps or a minibar on the side.
Parking lot needs space.
I am looking for the Cafe since the main lobby features quotes about cafe and coffee. It is nice ti have a mini coffee shop on the second level at the foyer. Or maybe in the balcony facing front street. I love the rustic feel of the interior and the beautiful columns of pillars and vintage windows on the building facade.
There should also be a historical account of this building and what i was prior to being converted into a hotel and what happened during Yolanda, etc.
I highly recommend this facility and would love to go back.

Good aircon and very clean room
It was very hot - though not as humid as in taiwan where I'd just been - when I checked in on a Friday afternoon to this former home that is now an impressive looking fenced hotel in Tacloban City. A car from the airport cost P250.
Staff were pleasant but lacked knowledge when I asked more detailed questions such as which V-Hire (van) to get to my next destination, but eventually they recommended Duptours.
I had room 202, which like almost all the six rooms is upstairs via a grand staircase that has been meticulously restored. There was only one other guest that night. The hotel does not have a lift.
The room was largish and had a top sheet on the comfortable bed with good quality linen. Thankfully the aircon was efficient.
A safety deposit box and a fridge were not supplied.
The bathroom was large and clean.
There was no traffic noise as the rooms are side on, not front facing.
It was easy to walk across the road and obtain a tricycle to visit another hotel for dinner.
I had a pancake for breakfast in the downstairs mini cafe: rather basic, but it was just sufficient.
A good small hotel.
