BLACK MOLD WARNING!!!

We were at the Amsterdam location for our anniversary. After arriving, we found that the room was insanely small (like could barely move), the lift was hardly working, the room smelt terrible, and the "city view" was just a small widow facing the roof next door. Normally we would have just dealt with this, but the bathroom was absolutely covered in BLACK MOLD all the way from the ceiling to the floor! It was so bad that we left the premises immediately and booked a room at the hotel next door (the American). For your own health and safety, DO NOT STAY HERE! Normally we are easy going folk but this was just ridiculous!

HORRIBLE HOTEL.

A dizzying staircase that is too narrow for your foot and spiral-shaped. The window wouldn't close, and the wind kept opening it, making it almost impossible for us to sleep. There is no elevator. Climbing four floors and descending four floors, especially with luggage, was horrible!
The hairdryer did not work. Little bugs in the sheets.
When we arrived, they asked us for a 100 euro deposit in addition to the reservation, and they told us that we could not use the free coffee machine they had. The hotel is very old. Kindness is noticeably absent.

Room was nice and clean, unfortunately the room was very small for a twin not sure how you would manage if you had two large suitcases. There are two buildings and the second which we stayed in needed updating, old worn carpets and corridors needing a coat of paint, not at all like the images. The same goes for the room and bathroom. If you struggle with step stairs not a good hotel for you. Great location to see Amsterdam with good access to the trams and easy to get to from the airport.
The other building seemed to be much more modern and more like the images.
Only way to describe is a upmarket hostel
