Dear Adelle and Greg,
I’m not sure if you’ll ever get to see this letter,
but I simply couldn’t help expressing how deeply your kindness touched us—before, during, and after our stay.
Even before we arrived, you sent us such detailed directions
that my friends and I found our way to your place with ease—
a peaceful, open spot on the high ground, just the right distance from town—close enough for our glowworm cave and city adventures, yet far enough to feel like a quiet retreat.
A friendly neighbour stopped by with eggs while walking her dog, and we had such a lovely little chat.
We got into the house easily and found it small but so thoughtfully prepared and cosy—we could truly feel the hostess’s taste in every detail. Homemade yoghurt, fresh milk, and a lovely selection of teas, treats, and cereals.
When we saw that big box of firewood and kindling set aside just for us, we were absolutely thrilled. That evening, we enjoyed the most romantic and comfortable BBQ by the fire.
And when we discovered the wooden hot tub—already filled with warm water, the fire beside it still gently glowing—the four of us felt our hearts melt all at once.
We were reluctant to leave your home the next morning. It wasn’t until midday that we saw your email asking if we’d like you to arrange breakfast for us—and we were deeply moved once again.
You truly warmed our month-long journey through New Zealand.

友好的邻居遛着狗来给你送鸡蛋，我们也非常开心地聊了几句。
我们很容易地进入房间，发现房间虽然不大，但是准备齐全而温馨，并且体会到了女主人的审美格调。自制的酸奶、新鲜的牛奶，以及各色茶点和麦片。
当我看到那一大箱为我们准备好的柴火和引火材料，我们激动不已。我们在傍晚时享受了一场非常浪漫而舒适的BBQ。
当我们发现为我们已经准备好的一大缸的木桶浴热水时，旁边的炉子还有未熄灭的柴火余温，我们四人的心同时被融化了。
我们恋恋不舍的离开了你的家，直到中午才发现你询问我们增设早餐的邮件，我们都感动不已。
你温暖了我们一个月的新西兰旅行。
