Fabulous Villa - Shame about the Details
This was our third visit to an Oasis Villa in Grand Baie. The villas themselves are fabulous. They are very private, spacious, with great accommodation, a super-comfy bed, a wonderful pool and maintained in good condition. However, there were three downsides: (i) there was nobody around to meet us - nobody seemed to have a clue who were on our arrival; (ii) the supplies were virtually non-existent - one bottle of water, two rolls of toilet paper and one tiny bottle of shower gel. For ten days! For a trivial extra cost at least a daily bottle of water, as many loo rolls as required and a sensible amount of shower gel should have been provided. A completely unnecessary economy; (iii) a deposit of 20,000 Mauritian Rupees (almost 400 euros) was required on checking-in. In cash! We had not been told this by our agent. It's bad enough having to stump up 20,000 MUR but wanting it in cash was ridiculous. So, you check-out and have 20,000 returned to you to do what with? Change it all back at the airport at a significant loss on exchange rates. Not very impressive! So, as long as you're OK with all this, the villas are excellent.

Old, run down and dated. Not well maintained. Not worth £400 per night. Stayed at villa 33/27
Owners are expecting high returned for little investments in maintenance. Wrong toilet seat size, shower heads not changed, broken electrical sockets, cracked tiles, tv not working and dampness on walls.

Bad
We have just returned from a trip to Mauritius. We stayed at the villas Oasis rated 4*. What a disappointment, we do not understand positive reviews (filed by locals, necessarily). We put 1 stars for housekeeping, women are very pro. The villas are aging, broken rod, very dirty sunbathing mattresses, degraded bathroom cabinet, no battery in the remote control for the tv, ... and close to the road, awakened by the sounds of engines. Not to mention that he asks for a deposit even though the women are there every day and checks the accommodation accordingly and the so-called manager can quite do it when the travelers leave. It is necessary to rent a vehicle to reach the beaches and shops because by car it takes 10 to 15 minutes. In addition, the "manager" (Marcus) of the accommodations has only interest in extorting a few rupees for so-called services. We have read the negative opinions that turned out to be true too late. To escape if you want to enjoy an (expensive) trip in the best conditions.

Very Basic inside Terrible Customer Service
We was told to arrive at the property early 12.00pm but Marcus never arrived till 15.30pm for check in and to show how everything works and where to find things.
when it should have been 14:00. This was the first red flag.
When we arrived the Tv did not work so 3 men had to come and fix it.
The beds are terribly hard and only had one pillow per person.
It was pretty basic for what is meant to be a luxury villa.
We was asked to pay 20,000 deposit on check in which was fine.
My family and i had advised Marcus on day of check out we was planning a family trip so we would need to leave by 11am to travel to the other side of the island.
Marcus did not show up on time day of check out we called and called finally managed to get hold of him.
He told me and my family we would have to get a taxi into the town to meet a lady with a card machine if we wish for our deposit to be returned. We was completely shocked at this as our baby is only 4 months old. We had no idea what we was doing we are tourist on holiday. This was not agreed or mentioned on check in
We argued and finally he said he would come to give us our money back in 20 mins. My family and i was desperate to leave to make our trip and collect baby formula as we was all out, which we told Marcus. Our Poor Baby cried and went hungry for 2 hours while we waited for our deposit to be returned, My wife was in tears and baby crying as we did not plan on being in the villa so late.
We are currently battling the general manager Maxell Ternel who seems to have no empathy towards me and my family
for the terribly service and the stress caused to me and my family. Takes days and days to get a simple email response.
Maxwell has offered an early check in and late check out on our next stay, Which i find utterly shocking him thinking
we would ever stay with them again after this. They added they would also compensate for our day trip which we declined. We will continue to fight this !!!

Good.
Villa very clean, a little old but stays clean. Towels are changed every two days.
The kitchen is very well equipped.
Great location.
The only big negative is that the pool remains partly in the shade, it is difficult to swim because it remains cold.
