4 star hotel in Alor Setar
I stayed at the Grand Alora Hotel in Alor Setar for two nights on a business trip. Everything is ok and I think the hotel management should look into this issue.
1. The room lighting was poor. The lighting in my room was extremely dim and dark. I had to rely on my mobile phone flashlight to see anything in the room. Not all guests whom stay at this hotel for a honeymoon ambiance and I think the hotel should install brighter and more practical lighting for guests who need to work.
2. Café dining space: During peak hours, the table were full and the dining area so congested.

Poor room provision
The room did not come with soap where we are ask to use the limited body wash solution in less than 30ml for everything in hygiene perspective.

Simple but worth it
The location is quite good, situated right next to Lotus’s supermarket, making it easy to find food, especially at night when many food stalls operate nearby.
The room was modest but clean. However, the lighting was rather dim — perhaps an effort by the hotel to save electricity
Breakfast is provided with a fair variety of choices, though the taste was average.
Overall, it’s still good value for money considering the price and convenience of the location.

Alhamdulillah. Best cuti2 kat alor setar. Hotel pun ok selesa buat kami sekeluarga. Bfast pun sedap. Tq Grand Alora Alor Setar. Staff pun baik2 semuanya.

The hotel stay was decent, but there were a couple of areas that could use improvement. The location isn’t particularly convenient, especially if you’re planning to explore the city or access public transportation easily. Additionally, the amenities felt outdated and could benefit from modernization to better match current guest expectations. Overall, it’s a suitable choice if location and up-to-date facilities aren’t top priorities.
