Member's Inn of the Secret Onsen no Kai
A member's inn of the Hidden Onsen in Kuzu Onsen. I used it for a day trip bath. Bathing fee is 800 yen. There is an inner bath and an open-air bath, from which you can see the mountain range. The inner bath is small. In comparison with just the hot springs, Takasekan was better, including the open-air bath, the inner bath and the taste.

A secret hot spring inn filled with the blessings of the mountains
Just before traveling, I searched for member inns of the "Japan Society for Preserving Secret Hot Springs" in the Shinshu region, and this was the only inn that came up, and I made a reservation. However, I read mixed reviews, and stayed there with some misgivings.
I work in the service industry, and I often deal with complaints, including unreasonable ones, so I don't give bad reviews, but this inn made me think, so I'm posting this in the hope that it will be helpful when making a choice.
- There was a lot of mountain produce, such as buckwheat noodles with thickened sauce, salt-grilled rainbow trout, and ginseng tempura. I've traveled a lot, and although the ingredients were not luxurious, there were many things I had never eaten before.
- From the open-air bath, you can see the mountains, and at night you can see a sky full of stars.
- A true secret hot spring inn (recently, even inns that advertise themselves as "secret hot springs" often have a lot of traffic, and you don't get the feeling of being a secret hot spring).
- There are no people, cars, or facilities in the surrounding area, so it is quiet.
- It used to be normal, but now the futon is put away and taken down during meals without being asked.
- I stayed here in August, and at night, if you open the screen door, a cool breeze comes in, but if you don't close the window as well as the screen door, an incredible number of bugs will come in, so you can't even open the window, the temperature in the room rises, there is no air conditioner, and it was hot and uncomfortable to sleep with just an electric fan. Also, after dinner, there were many winged ants on the futon and tatami mats that had been laid out, and I crushed about 30 to 50 of them with tissues.
- There are a lot of horseflies in the open-air bath during the day, so it is very difficult to use.
- The lights in the lobby are not on all day, and as others have said, the hallways are also dim. I think it would be fine to leave them on until the lights are turned off.
Overall, the staff were friendly and I didn't have any unpleasant experiences. However, I think this inn is not suitable for people who want to be pampered or who believe that their ideas are correct (you will only have unpleasant experiences). For those who think it's natural to follow the rules of the inn, I think this is a good choice, as the food is even more delicious and filling than it looks in the photos, and the view from the open-air bath is amazing. Also, if you choose the season, your experience may be different.

The place is old and not so clean. Onsen is good, but wish it was a bit more clean.

This is NOT a ryokan, just a crumbling hotel with acceptable onsen
Me and my wife just threw away 500 USD to stay here for one night. The place is in awful conditions, with dirty carpeting (yes, NO WOOD, anywhere!), poor covers and furniture and the bathrooms that are something difficult to describe.
The food has been really ordinary, just to be generous, since (as an example) they brought us FROZEN sashimi (!) and changed it, after we noticed it, with something... better defrosted.
Only the onsen is accettabile and with a nice view, but does not justify such an high fare.
We have been fooled and we hope that our experience could help you choose another place.

日本秘湯を守る会の面汚し
お客さんが寒いと言ってるのに
もう暖かくなってきたので暖房は切りましたのでの一言
おかげで一晩中震えながら布団に潜りこみ過ごしました。
日本秘湯を守る会を信用して宿泊したのに残念でした。
玄関には秘湯の会のトレードマークの提灯も無く秘湯の会のプライドはまったく無い、早く秘湯の会から脱会してください。
