This room was far above expectations! The staff were amazing to arrange transportation and help with the bags to our room. The view was breathtaking and we watched the sunrise and sunset without having to leave our balcony. Highly recommend this hotel!

Avoid at all costs: a rare contempt for the clientele
I have rarely encountered such contempt from a hotelier. For this establishment, you are just a wallet, and your satisfaction is the least of their worries.
The cleaning, first of all, is very approximate: the towels are far from giving off the slightest scent of freshness and cleanliness. There is no reception, only a phone number to call, and when you call, they do not hide the fact that you are bothering them.
Access to the rooms requires climbing many steps, which makes it impossible to carry your own luggage. A porter is therefore essential, and all hotels in the same price range provide one. The one at the Sophie Castle View arrived very late, to the point of putting us in an embarrassing situation with the taxi driver who was waiting for us and calling us relentlessly.
As for the switchboard operator, she did not answer either. I had to use my daughter's phone for her to finally agree to pick up. Unbelievable.
Do not go there! For an equivalent budget, you will find establishments that are much higher quality and more respectful of their clientele, starting with the Nona Oia Villa.

Our unit was right off the main pedestrian path so it was a bit odd to be relaxing in our plunge pool with a bunch of tourists walking down to peek in; it's Santorini so we expected business but it was crazy the amount of people who tried to come down a private path. Better signage would have been nice. The AC didn't actually work, it was technically a fan for the most part. Check in and check out were horrible, we messaged with the hotel a week before check in and never got a response. The morning of check in, they finally messaged us and told us they would arrange pick up at the ferry so we didn't need to worry about it. We waited for almost an hour and no one showed up, we messaged them and got no response some just grabbed a taxi. Our taxi driver called the property for us since they weren't responding to our messages or phone calls. Seems the company is based out of Athens so they don't monitor their emails or phone calls. He guided us to a local number and was finally able to get through and was told that someone would meet us at the pick up point but no one showed up so we walked there ourselves and had to call to see where they were. Check out was just as bad, our prescheduled transportation didn't show up, we had to manage it ourselves.

The location for the view of caldera especially the sunset is unbeatable. However, the amenities are the minimum or even shabby to an international standard. So, for a stay of one or two nights it could be manageable but any where longer can be hard.
