Peaceful and quiet with a wonderful view of Caldea

From 11/14 July 2014 my husband and I spent three nights at this hotel in Imerovigli on Santorini. The hotel is easily accessible, being situated in the middle of the many hotels which are all pressed into the volcanic mountains stooping into the Santorini Caldea. The hotel has got rooms on both sides of a small lane leading to another hotel. The small pool (jacouzzi)is right at the entrance to the public area and quite exposed to other people. However, since all hotels/places are interlinked through small pathways in Santorini, people respect each other and there is little or no disturbance from people passing by.
Our room, which could sleep three, was the last towards the Caldea so we had nobody in front. We had a fabulous view and enjoyed our simple breakfast with fresh bread, ham and cheese, juice and coffee at the balcony every morning. We enjoyed a fantastic view over the Volcano island, the volcanic rim which Santorini is built on and saw the many cruise ships arriving and leaving. Irini Villas is very quiet at night and so is Imerovigli in general.There are a few really nice restaurants not far from the Villa which I will address and recommend in other posts. Imerovigli is less noisy and stressed up than Fira and Oia and we really enjoyed our stay there. Stairs are always a challenge in Santorini and we had to make 150 steps every time we went to our car ! Heavy for me with some bad knees but good for your heart and health!

Terrible place..overbooked..no staff. .
1 young lady to hotel..not equipped as in introduction. No service...The pool
2m2 big was very dirty and smelled bad
Never this place again. The wiew was ok and the city interest ing.
We never saw the owner in 2 weeks
We had to changes room 3 times
So dear coming visitors. Don't book here

The Views...

Moved from the Blue suits to here - in effect an upgrade purely for the amazing view. Staff were helpful and friendly, room small but comfortable. Bit of a hike into Fira, but there is a good and close mini mart, bakery and pharmacy. Breakfast served on balcony 8-10, continental style and fine for us.
Stayed 5 nights.

Terrible

Despite confirming our booking a number of times (booked 9 months in advance) were were of course moved to not one but 2 different hotels. The second was of inferior quality with no pool or balcony or breakfast. We were offered no reason or recompense for this extreme inconvinience, and were forced to waste our time lugging our suitcases up and down the stairs. If you actually get to stay in this hotel it looked quite nice, with beautiful views, but I wouldn't count on it. Terrible experience.

Totally Unreliable

I booked a room at this hotel in January 2014 for July 2014 and paid at the time of booking, e-mailed the hotel, a month at least, prior to arriving to confirm that my reservation was safe which was confirmed. When I arrived,tired and hot I was flippantly told that there was a problem with my room and I would have to stay in another hotel. When I suggested that the 'problem' was the fact that they had given my room to someone else the receptionist shrugged her shoulders and said "yes". I cannot express my frustration and anger enough,especially after my attempts to confirm all would be ok. I would suggest that this hotel is profiteering by booking you in with no intention of housing you, then passing you off to another hotel/hostel without the facilities you had paid for originally. Do not waste your time getting involved with this unreliable, unethical facade of a hotel.
