Memories to last a lifetime.
It’s funny really, this is the first time in my adult life where I am at a loss for words on what to say about a place. If you have read any other reviews on Caveland you will already know that this is the best hostel in not just Greece but the entire world. Words cannot describe how much this place means to me.
First of all, I will start off by saying I only stayed here for 4 nights but I promise you I will remember those nights for the rest of my life. Many other reviews will talk about the ammenities, free breakfast, the pool, movie nights, group dinners - the list goes on. But I want to talk about the people that truly makes this place so special.
Luca:
When I first walked in the door, Luca was so welcoming and knowledgeable about the whole island and due to his kind soul, I didn’t need much convincing to sign up to everything he suggested I do. He also made legitimately the best pizza I have ever tasted. The fact he literally new every lyric and piece of dialogue from Mamamia was truly insane.
Sara:
I say it once, I’ll say it always, Irish people are the greatest human beings I have ever met. From the Guiness jumpers to the complete gibberish she was speaking when she was drunk, Sara was something else. The fact that the cheapest bottle of Guinness I could find in Santorini was €21 still haunts me.
Christa.
I don’t even know where to start. Christa was my adopted mum for the 4 nights I stayed here. She might not like me saying this but she truly is the living embodiment of Donna out of Mamma-Mia. I unfortunately had the experience of nearly
Killing myself riding back on a moped at 3am, the next day she played the role that my actual mother would have done spoiling me rotten with iced coffee and Greek pastry. She truly made me feel at home and it is because of her that these 4 nights will last a lifetime. Thankyou for putting up with me.
The travellers:
The experience would have been extremely different without all of the incredible people that I got to meet while at Caveland. From my fellow Aussie; Alicia, Tom from Switzerland, Sophie who felt like a cool older sister. The list is endless. Thankyou so much for everyone for these days that will last a lifetime.
Needless to say, I will be back.

Not what we expected
My group booked Caveland off the basis of other reviews and unfortunately we were disappointed. We booked a 6 person shared dorm with a bathroom which actually turned out to be shared with another two people in an attached room. This meant 8 people were coming through the rooms to use the bathroom. There was barely - if any - water pressure and no hot water. There was air conditioning however the remote was taken off us during the day and as we were told by the manager if we wanted air conditioning on “we could pay the electricity bill.” The pool was great and was the saving grace of the hostel! But when chatting to our roommates and other hostel guests we discovered we were not the only one’s underwhelmed by our stay. Overall the hostel was disappointing and unfortunately we were eager to leave by the end of our stay. Seriously suggest paying a bit more to stay closer to the town. You would probably have a much better experience.

Caveland slays
Had a wonderful experience at Caveland! The hostel staff were super helpful and friendly, my room was clean and spacious and the hostel dogs were so friendly and cute! Would definitely stay here again!

Needs a revamp
I stayed at Caveland Santorini for 4 nights in September. I had a horrible experience. The rooms would stink like urine all the time, nothing seemed to make it better. There is zero ventilation and in the morning my roommates and I would gag due to the smell even when the areas were cleaned. No one seems to care about cleanliness. They really need to work on the plumbing of the property, it really needs a revamp. They need more staff to maintain the place it is unfortunate only 1 person has been hired for the cleaning, washing and moping of the property. They provide only a bedsheet for the night and it gets very cold at night. The front desk Gaya, is extremely rude and does not have any customer care skills, not welcoming at all. To be honest the place is so over-priced it is better to live at an Air-bnb or go for other options. The area outside the rooms is decent. They are not open to feedback at all, however I hope they work on their weakness so that less people can waste their money staying there. Thank you!

One of the best hostels there is
I really did enjoy my stay at Caveland so much. The hostel is absolutely fabulous and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Santorini. They offer great activities and help you with booking tours or renting atvs/scooters/whatever you need. It is clean and comfy and has so much to be discovered. The pool is really great and the atmosphere is perfect, even in low season. Breakfast was great as well.
