Lovely Greek hospitality in relaxed hotel just outside Kos town.

Relaxed hotel in quiet outskirts of Kos town opposite small beach. Nice pool, plenty of sun beds. Stayed in room 308 which is one of the newer ground floor rooms. Lovely shower, clean room which was serviced daily. Air con , tv, kettle and hairdryer. No coffee but that was ok as we took some . Breakfast and dinner was fine, not fine dining but all freshly cooked and plenty of salad and fresh fruit. Pool bar where Tomas was very cheerful and helpful and Marina who was our waitress in the restaurant. All staff always polite and smiling.
25 mins walk to Old Town which could be tricky if you don’t keep off the cycle path. Lots of supermarkets and bars nearby if you don’t fancy the walk.
Overall a lovely relaxed and typical Greek place to stay and we would definitely return to stay here again. Don’t be put off by some of the negative comments - if you want rustic, friendly, clean place by sea you won’t be disappointed.

Our stay at Palm Beach…

We have just arrived back from our stay at the Palm Beach Hotel, the hotel is very run down needs repairing and revamping. The pictures of the hotel do not meet expectations. The food is not the best didn’t have much variety and wasn’t the best had to avoid some foods as there were flies all over the food, the breakfast was repetitive and tasteless. We ate out most nights. The pool area is very dirty needs a good clean with sun loungers off colour very uncomfortable, pool green and umbrellas dirty etc. We booked a superior room and there was a lot of things broken and hanging off. I do understand you get what you pay for but therefore maintenance on things like lights and plug sockets should be fixed. We reported this issue to reception and nothing was done about it. Also we have stayed in much better hotels for the price we have paid. We never got our towels changed for 3 days and the bed wasn’t changed either the whole week. Our fridge was dirty inside. The hotel is also a 20-25minute walk to the main area. When we were due to check out we had to check out at 11am and they do not provide any washroom facilities to get changed and freshen up before we leave as we had a late flight we were only offered to use the shower by the pool and get changed in the toilets. We have never had a hotel that doesn’t offer this. The staff were friendly overall but the hotel was disappointing.

Super hotel

A small big hotel with nice restaurant and pool. The staff were amazing especially the restaurant staff. The pool-side bar was also great and they laid on entertainment most nights. The hotel was about 25 minutes walk from Kos Town on the south east and classier side of Kos. The room was quite large with a decent balcony too.

Palm Beach Kos

Palm Beach was not a pleasant hotel to stay in. We booked half board but ate out after evening 3 of the same repetitive food which was decidedly average. Such a shame that they dont use fresh Greek produce as food in the town is so good.Flies on all the buffet with a few measly fans to prevent this. Its a long walk to Kos Town with poor footpaths for half of the way. Trip advisor says it has a safe in rhe room but we paid for a safe which is behind reception and each time you access the safe you have to ask at reception for a key. The room was not one of the refurbished ones and for three days we had no bath towels and had to make do with hand towels. Fridge looked unclean because it had brown marks in it and the side shelves were broken. Under the bed was never dusted. It is close to beaches but also near a farm so we were woken each morning by a rooster crowing under our. balcony. Chickens wander around the gardens all day. All in all we felt that we could have booked s budget hotel much closer to Kos with better facilities for the same price.

Good hotel for the price

Good bits: room was nice and as advertised, comfortable beds, air con worked fine, pool was lovely and not busy, good location next to beach, reception and restaurant area were clean and as in photos
It is a ~20min walk to town with bars/shops along the way or a €7 taxi. There are also nice restaurants right outside on the beachfront.
Bad bits: room wasn’t fully clean (could tell walls, chairs, balcony and fridge hadn’t been wiped down), sun loungers were uncomfortable, drinks at pool were expensive and not very nice, breakfast only open until 10am
We booked this hotel for a really low price so were happy overall with what we got. It feels like the place has a lot of potential if they just fixed a few things.
