Good value
We had a great stay at Chalet Glacier. We flew into Chambery and although it was incredibly busy on a Saturday afternoon, Crystal looked like they had in under control and easily directed us to our transfer. The experience back from Chambery was nothing less than chaotic - that's due to the airport rather than Crystal - the airport is too small to handle such a large amount of customers, so just a heads up you either need a very large amount of patience and a relaxed approach or perhaps the extra 2 hours to Geneva might be better!
The Chalet itself is quite basic, but perfect for us. The rooms are quite small but completely manageable. Sharing a bathroom wasn't a problem for us, I had to wait once for the shower but apart from that we were all well coordinated. It looked like the bathrooms were cleaned everyday, it was certainly very clean.
The food was pretty good. It was what you would expect for 28 people - it was great for a ski holiday. I certainly never went hungry. Afternoon tea was also good. However I found the coffee pretty horrible, so just stuck to tea. I would recommend getting the packed lunch if you don't want to spend a lot of money everyday, it cost 6 euros per person for a very decent size baguette, crisps, cereal bar and juice (you can also take fruit from breakfast). We liked this as it meant we could enjoy apres a little bit more!
Our chalet hosts were really nice - I only remember the names of Alice and Katie (sorry!) but everyone else was really nice as well. The chef was also really nice, offering us sausage sandwiches on our last morning.
Overall I would definitely recommend going if you're on a little bit of a budget - realistically I wouldn't go to this resort if you're on a real strict budget! It was basic but clean without any luxuries.

Basic chalet but great location and great food!
Food: The food was great! For breakfast you're served the usual continental breakfast, as well as a hot option which changes day by day. Great breakfast to kick off a busy day! For lunch you're greeted by cakes and snacks, as well as baguettes with a few spreads, nothing fancy but hits the spot if you return early. Also, just a tip, you can order pack lunches (sandwich, drink, fruit and crisps) for 5 euros. Finally, for dinner, you're served a three course meal with complimentary wine which, for the price, we thought would be fairly basic, but turned out to be great and exceeded our expectations. You have also have the option to add on extras for an additional cost (Cheese board, Prosecco, Finest red and white wine). Also on the chalet staffs day off, you will have to book a restaurant for dinner- highly recommend Pignatta for meat and cheese fondue!
Location: Again great location! You're literally a 30 second walk to the two main lifts (Paquis & Chaudannes), and a 5-10 minute walk to the town center. Just as a tip, when arriving and leaving the chalet, there's a steep walk up and down an icy hill, which resulted in a lot of falling over. The chalet reps were great at helping, but just a heads up.
The chalet itself: When booking the chalet we had a clear expectation that it was very basic, as we had stayed here before. Keep this in mind when booking, as it's not for everyone. Upon entering, the ski and boot storage room is located to the right. Again, this is very basic as there are simply shelves to leave your stuff on. As a tip, leave your boots in there for a while for the ice to melt off, then take your boots down to your room to actually dry off. On a few occasions in heavy powder, our boots were still wet from the day before of skiing- not ideal and made for an uncomfortable day. The dinner room and lounge area are basic again but nice, nothing fancy. The bedrooms are small and slightly cramped, but do the job. Not a lot of moving around space, and as mentioned in other comments, thin walls- try not to be on the other side of a loud snorer! The sharing bathrooms situation wasn't too bad as we shared with the rest of our group, but it can be a nightmare, as we have experienced, when sharing with strangers who have no personal hygiene! Finally, the wi-fi services are terrible! We were just about able to go onto social media, let alone YouTube and this was in the room next to the router. We were not able to get access to the wi-fi from our rooms as well as to had to resort to using 3G. Expect to not have much internet access throughout the week.
The Crystal staff: They were absolutely fantastic! Our chalet hosts Ollie, Tilly, James and Paddy took care of everything we needed as well as helping the chalet guests feel at home away from home. From cleaning the facilities to cooking the meals, we were thoroughly looked after. Be sure to ask their opinions of runs, restaurants and appropriate clothing as they ended up giving us the best advice day by day. We had the best holiday, all because of the staff.
Serious look outs for your holiday:
1) Definitely avoid flying to Chambrey! It is an atrocious airport and very badly organised. We ended up wasting an hour and a half on simply waiting for our baggage, and with so many flights coming through we found ourselves cramped up against stressed and sweaty passengers in a small airport. Avoid at all costs and fly to Geneva! If you're thinking of flying here to cut down your transfer time, you'll end up with more hassle and more stress.
2) The transfer times are very long 3-4 hours, so make sure you ask the rep for sufficient stops to grab a drink and stretch your legs.
3) With the walls and beds being very basic, be sure to book with a group and book a corner of the chalet. it's very difficult to sleep on basic beds when you can hear someone in the next room snoring.
4) Finally and mentioned before, the ski room is very basic. Be sure to bring your wet stuff to your room as it will NOT dry in the boot room. There were many occasions when we came up in the morning and our boots were still very wet from the previous day. The chalet is definitely due a few key upgrades.
Overall, the chalet was exactly what we expected so no nasty surprises. It's very basic, but the key points which made me give this a decent rating was the location, the food and the staff!

Awesome Chalet Experience
My brother and I stayed in Chalet Glacier for the first time this week and it was fantastic. The hosts were really friendly and helpful, the food was lovely (and came with plenty of wine). Excellent cake in the afternoons home made by the team :)
Our crystal rep George was fab, helping with booking a meal for us in a restaurant (Pignattas-top tip!) signing us up for a really good and very messy bar crawl and helping us to ducktape my brother's broken suitcase at the aiport on the way home, cheers George!
The chalet is basic in terms of facilities most rooms share toilets which didn't turn out to be much of an issue, and the walls are thin, which is easily solved by earplugs. Overall the chalet is excellent value for money, it isn't the most luxurious in the world but it is cosy and social and the staff really make it. Thanks guys!!

A great chalet experience
I stayed at Chalet Glacier in early Feb as one of a group of 6 men, this is my 4th catered chalet with Crystal and I would say it's up there as one of the best so far.
The Chalet itself holds 28 so is the biggest I have stayed at, this has both advantages and disadvantages:
The size of the chalet means it has to be well ran and it certainly was - there were usually 4-5 staff running around at mealtimes and organising everything. Meals were pretty decent, always well cooked and no problems all week (other than pancakes which I think were made out of omlette mix). Cakes were also pretty good with notable cookies and carrot cake.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful, couldn't fault them!
The size did mean though that it could be quite noisy, especially as the younger groups stayed out until the early hours then came back making noise. Most of the rooms were downstairs below the living area with the exception of 13 & 14 which were above the dining area. We stayed in 13 and it did mean that by 7am when staff were preparing breakfast the noise level started to raise but this was fine because on a night you couldn't hear anything of the other guests.
The rooms themselves were functional as expected, though had paper thin walls between rooms and I wasn't overly keen on the shared bathrooms that most of the rooms have - fine if (like us) you are sharing a bathroom with 1 other room (your friends) but for some people there were 4-5 rooms sharing a single bathroom, not ideal!
The chalet is really well located in Lavachet just around the corner from the main 2 lifts (Paquis & Chaudannes) and just a short walk to several bars, restaurants, ski hire shops & a supermarket. There is also a bus stop just at the top of the road where you can catch the free circular bus to Tignes Le Lac & Val Claret either for access to more dining & shops or to get home after a tiring day on the slopes.
All in all the chalet was great and I'd definitely recommend it with the caveat of selecting your room based on preferences of shared bathrooms/toilets etc.
My only real complaints were not the chalet staffs fault, but more Crystals:
* The ridiculous flight and transfer times - we had to be at the airport for 4am on our way out and despite the 10:10 return flight were still picked up at 3:40am then dumped at the very expensive Geneva airport with no break during the transfer for either toilet or food.
* Our Crystal rep, George, was useless. I'm not even sure why Crystal still feel the need for these reps as the chalet staff looked after us just fine. He forgot to book our restaurant for the chalet staffs night off and only after we harassed for a 3rd time did he book us somewhere totally inappropriate (we would have done it ourselves but he assured us each time he would sort it out for us). He also reappeared on our return transfer and promised a stop at a service station on the way because he knew the cheap areas of Geneva airport wouldn't be open, then promptly fell asleep and consequently the bus didn't stop until we got to the airport and it was too late. Finally, his morning weather reports were pretty useless as he didn't arrive to deliver them until after most of us had already left for the day!

Location, Location, Location!
My overall experience with Chalet Glacier has been a positive one and I really enjoyed my stay in Tignes.
As a group of 8, the chalet was perfect for us -right on the slopes for skiing as well as enjoying the night life Tignes and Val Claret has to offer. As my title suggests, the highlight of the Chalet really was It's location with chairlifts located outside the door. Credit is also due to the lovely and friendly staff, Tilly and Katie who were more than happy to help us whenever needed. I was also impressed by the service of our Crystal Ski rep Will who was available to answer any queries we had and helped us with our transfers and settling into the Chalet. He had first hand experience of the area and was happy to recommend this to us . He recommended the yurt experience with the ESF in Tignes Val Claret and this is definitely a must do experience!
