When looking for something close the train station
A cute little old-viby hotel literally a stone throw away from the train station. Very basic, but does the job. Fairly priced, and easily competition with Airbnb.
The room was clean, but rather small. Then again, I was only there for one night, so it wasn't looking for much more. There are bars close by, so there might be some "weekend noise".
Breakfast is cheap and nothing special, but you won't leave the place hungry. Lovely staff! Would recommend!

Budget friendly hotel in the city centre
The location of the hotel is really. It is close to the railway station, city centre and all shops are around. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms themselves are ok. There is everything that a person needs: bed, writing desk, chair and night stand. The bathroom is ok too. No fridge, kettle, aircon in rooms.However, it would be good if rooms had tulle curtains too along with blackouts curtains. The problem is that you cannot even open curtains since all sides go straight to busy parts of the city: one facing bus stops and Sokos hotel. The second part faces the construction side and residential apartments. Tulle curtains would help to brighten the room and you would not feel suffocated locked up in a room with blackout curtains.Since there is no fridge, kettle or microwave in rooms, it would be good to arrange these facilities on the second floor. Maybe in one corner, so it would give a homey feeling to guests and anyone would have an opportunity to warm up food, make a cup of tea or store food in the fridge.
The breakfast is nice and there is a choice of corn flakes, freshly made porridge, cold cuts, boiled eggs, bread with jam and butter and fruits.

Comfortable stay and smiling staff
Comfortable and warm room. The staff are friendly and smiling. Excellent location in the central area of Jyväskylä. They serve a good breakfast which gives a good start for the day. During the weekend nights, there was a little bit of noise from the street but anyhow managed to sleep well. I could stay there again.

3 night stay-3 too many
Where to start.. the younger staff were nice and professional. The older...should take some coursess on customer service. Rooms were over all clean, but in really desperate need of an update to 2019.
Breakfast. Muesly, porrige and bread. I expected more being a hotel afrer all.
Honestly the location was simply the best thing and being on the expensive side..there are many others to choose from.
Wasn't to our taste, but maybe someone else will love it.
Has free parking, if room on the parking area.

Pretty decent, but nothing particular
I stayed here for a whole week, so I have a pretty good idea about this hotel. Located near the train station close to downtown, it was a good hotel for my purposes. My business was at the university, which is ca. 20 min. way on foot. Big lobby, friendly staff. There was never any problem, they all speak English. Room on 2nd floor was fairly narrow, but for myself sufficient. It was always warm, so pleasant for the month of March. Bathroom was all good, the bed very comfortable, though a bit simple. The entire set-up seems like a youth hostel a bit improved for the single traveler. Flat tv in the room. No fridge, no radio, no microwave. Furniture a bit used already. Breakfast was included, but after 2 days I was already so tired of it. Every morning exactly the same. Hard boiled eggs, cheese, meats, a variety of breads, cereal, some fruit, a little yogurt, coffee, tea, juice, of course. Can I stand another breakfast tomorrow, not so sure. Walls are fairly thin, so when people watch tv, or snore at night, clearly noticeable. Otherwise, very quiet. Altogether, an ok hotel, with free wifi in the room. In the lobby, they have a computer, but they charge for the use. There is a sauna included, but I never had a chance to use it. Parking outside is plenty, if you come with a car. Staircase and hallway a little dirty, could need more cleaning.
