Award-Winning Hilton Quality, Great Service, and a Pool Worth Talking About!
It is easy to understand why the Spark by Hilton in Newcomerstown has won Hilton’s Connie Award two years in a row. For those who may not know, Hilton’s Connie Award is one of the company’s highest honors, given to top-performing hotels that stand out for quality, service, cleanliness, and overall guest satisfaction — so winning it even once is a big deal, and winning it two years in a row says a lot.
As a Lifetime Diamond member with Hilton, I have stayed in many Hilton properties, and I can tell when a hotel is being run well. Spark hotels are often former hotel properties that have been refreshed and upgraded to meet Hilton standards, and this Newcomerstown location does a very nice job of delivering that Hilton-level experience.
We had a couple of small challenges during our stay, but what impressed me most was how the staff responded. They were professional, helpful, and genuinely kind. Paige deserves special recognition for helping us feel welcomed, comfortable, and well cared for.
The hotel is conveniently located right near I-70, making it very easy to get on and off the interstate. They do not have a full hot breakfast, but they do offer a nice bagel bar along with oatmeal and muffins, which was a good start to the day.
The pool area really stood out. The pool was warm, very clean, and well maintained — and the hot tub was even better. That alone made the stay feel extra relaxing.
Overall, this Spark by Hilton is a great value with excellent service, a convenient location, and a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. You get a great bang for your buck, and I would definitely recommend staying here.

Our room was nice. The shower was very good. There are not many tv stations worth watching. We didn’t partake of the breakfast. We knew it was a continental when we booked and that was ok. We went to Wendy’s instead.

Excellent Staff
We stayed here foe r a night during a recent outing with our 11-year-old grandson. Staff was great, pool (key item for grandson) was clean and heated. It and the hot uub were hits. The room was good, clean, quiet and roomy enough. However, it was equipped with only one chair (a hard plastic or metal) patio type desk, had no coffee maker and was not what I had asked for when making res'v. I prefer walk- in showers due to mobility issues - this had a tub (there were bars, but floor was somewhat slippery). The desk person offered to switch us, but wife and grandson had already unpacked by time I parked and returned to find the tub. Another example of the great service the staff all exhibited. I would stay here again but would definitely check room set up before unpacking. It is a very reasonably priced facility.

We appreciate the opportunity to clarify the room type concern. Your reservation was booked through a third-party website as a standard room. While the reservation included a preference for a walk-in shower, third-party reservations transmit room preferences as requests rather than guaranteed features. Because a standard room was reserved, we assigned the room type booked. We understand that a walk-in shower would have been more comfortable given your mobility concerns.
We are pleased that our front desk team was able to offer a room change once the issue was brought to our attention, although we certainly understand that your family had already settled in by that point. For future stays, we would encourage contacting the hotel directly before arrival so we can do our best to accommodate specific room feature requests whenever availability allows.
Regarding the coffee maker and seating, Spark by Hilton rooms are designed according to brand standards, which include coffee service in the lobby rather than in guest rooms, and room furnishings are standardized throughout the brand.

We loved our stay! Great hot tub and heated pool. Staff was very friendly and helpful with dinner and ice cream suggestions, as well as events and attractions around the area.
