friendly family hotel good for both beach and easy access to Bilbao.

this is a basic hotel with simple rooms but with great views from public areas down to the sea. Weather permitting the simple but excellent quality and good value breakfast can be enjoyed on the grass looking down to the beach. Our room was on the small side but with reasonable view across carpark (scruffy but more than adequate) and it was all very clean, an extremely comfortable bed and a really good spacious bathroom - although toiletries are sparse and a bar of soap would have been useful. We had room 11 which along with 9 on ground floor have the view across gardens to hills beyond. Those on opposite side of corridor will have no view I think. These rooms appear brand new. A 20 minute walk or the bus just below the hotel take you to the metro for very easy access to Bilbao for the old town and the Guggenheim. A very friendly place to which we would return.

Not the greatest seaside experience

Overpriced for the facilities and time of year. I was charged more than the website tariff. I stayed for 3 nights and was barely acknowledged by staff. Service at bar was brusk, and most evenings the place was full of drunk locals shouting at each other and chain smoking.

First the positive: the staff was very friendly and the room and bathroom were clean. The hotel is close to the sea.
But: The pictures when booking were very exaggerated. There is no real parking space, you kind of stand in front of the hotel and hope that no one drives into your car in the narrow space.
The whole hotel needs renovation. Stains on the walls, paint peeling off, furniture knocked over, heating in the bathroom rusted.
WiFi was only available at reception, there was nothing in the room.
Not a place to feel comfortable, we left a day early.

Pretty good !

Basic but clean/ nice large room, with steaming hot water. Can’t beat the location for access to 2 awesome beaches - sopelana and salvaje. Don’t expect luxury !! But after reading reviews I was a bit concerned , and there was no need to be. Beautiful green lawn, good bar and breakfast, clean room, and reasonable price for the neighbourhood . Hip/modern nearby restaurant option: los milagros.
Note - some of the staff not the most friendly, but if you are patient generally helpful.

Sorry but not good

We stoped over on our way bake to the UK on our motorbikes. The staff were friendly. But that is as far as it went. My room was to a poor standard. We had 4 rooms not one had not even a bar of soap in it nothing. Are the owner even trying I ask myself I don't think so!! But it is close to the beach. That s it!
