Wonderful fresh local food for tired climbers

Me and my friend visited Margalef for climbing and stayed at airbnb nearby Ca Calbet. We ended up having dinner at CC 4 times during a week. The salads were amazingly fresh and the main meals always good. Service was heart warming and the two ladies very welcoming. Last night ended up with local drinks and warm hugs. Will come back for sure if returning to Margalef.

GASTRONOMIC CRITIQUE JOAN - LOCAL GUIDE LEVEL 9

We are going to eat on a Sunday, only a menu, a dining room with 4 very cozy tables and white walls over rock. They have another dining room.
The cook and partner, a very friendly older lady, attends to us.
It is a rural house.
They bring chips as a snack.
There is no menu; she reads and explains what they have.
First, a garden salad with tomato, cucumber, pineapple, nuts, and apple, delicious.
I have the Catalan beans; they are fava beans, which are smaller and a bit strong for my taste, and I tell her so. But they are good.
Next, she offers us a meat rice casserole, and we order it.
It is also strong and peppery; we tell both of them. She says, "If you had said so!!" I reply, "I have eaten many mountain rice casseroles, and this is the first time this has happened to me." Our mouths are burning.
The place is very quiet, and the waitress and partner who attends to us is very kind.

Painful

We were there last week and they treated us in such an unpleasant way that we left without eating. The lady who served us advised us to go home to eat just because one person had celiac disease. I hope she doesn't serve all people the same.

Climbing trip in Margalef

Walking through the streets of Margalef we saw a sign that marked Ca Calbet, so we decided to try to go there for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised, a few tables, a family atmosphere and the two owners. Typical dishes, generous portions and fresh products. The next night we stayed to sleep. It was nice to meet and talk to people who love their work.We will definitely be back!

2 nights in heaven

Best services and food in the whole village. We had the best time and I will never forget this trip. The location and the people there is unique and lovely. Ill come back really soon. I totally recommend this place.
