Let us Wax Lyrical !

One step to the beach, Sun beds provided, beach towels available, Views of the sea from most rooms. First class air conditioning available 24/7 ! The whole hotel shines with it's cleanliness.
Smiles all the way from the staff..This small hotel is a hidden gem! Car essential.
Food is very good but the menu is an adhoc verbal affair..Service is first class .
We enjoyed a heavenly week here . Relaxed to the Max !!!!!!!!

Good but could be so much better

The best thing about the place is the beach side location. There is a really well-marked out swimming area and the water is extremely clear. The rooms themselves were fine with good air con, which was essential in the 30+ heat. But it could be so much better if it had:
-a more readily available reception: we had to wait more than 5 minutes when we were leaving to find someone to pay the tax
-better parking procedure: the booking details clearly had advertised a parking space but there was not one available when we got there
-less salty food: we had lunch there when we arrived - it was way too salty

Very small hotel -far away - and with no possibility for breakfast

Very small room with an Air condition that did not work. The bed inflicted severe back pain the following days due to a spring you could feel.
Furthermore we got down for breakfast at 9:10 (breakfast ended at 10) - No breakfast left. Only the cut off end pieces of the loafs was left, Only sausage and simple cheese with no tast was left.
No elevator: If your suitcases are heavy you have a problem.
For what it is worth, the portier was very service minded, but she could not change any of the facts above.

Great for quick break away to the Sun

Really enjoyed my stay. Hotel lovely, very clean. Enjoyed the food very much. Very peaceful quiet place so great for my 4 day relaxing stay. Bus stop approx. 10 minutes away away, take you to city of Zadar for 16Kunas, beautiful trip.

Great Hotel with fantastic views.

Spent 4 days here. Initially offered a side sea view room, but asked if we could change to a room at the front with a full sea view. Unfortunately there were none available the first night, but they were happy to move us the next day. The room at the front is slightly larger with a slightly bigger balcony enough for 2 chairs and a table.
The hotel is clean and comfortable, but as a family owned and run hotel the best thing about Mare Nostrum are the people. (Hesitate calling them the staff as they are so nice). They couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. For example, they advised leaving the A/C on whilst we were out so that the room would be nice and cool when we got back.
Some extra facilities in the room would be nice, like a fridge or a kettle, but if you needed a hairdryer or beach towels they would quickly fetch them.
There is some road noise, but you can't hear it in the room, perhaps on the balcony, but then you are more likely to be distracted by the view!
Wouldn't hesitate to return or to recommend to friends and wish the family every success - they deserve it!
