Excellent Hostel!
Best hostel in Capurgana, with the possibility of volunteering! Incredible administration and super flexible (for volunteer), hospitality and humble people, total security, and happy people in the Caribbean paradise, with a beautiful garden with animal visit! Next to the beach! And I leave it very clear everything super clean, including a beautiful kitchen that tastes to cook! Joha, she's super amazing and always willing to give any kind of information! Enjoy this paradise that is Capurganá! I will be back soon!

Fraud with the use of the platform in booking.
Please take great care when booking at this hostel. The owner makes you cancel on booking so you don't pay taxes to the platform. That's fraud and it's already on notice on booking.com

Hostel from hell
Before booking La Bohemia, we had checked the reviews and although there were a few terrible stories we decided to believe the better reviews...
DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS US!!!
Firstly, there was NO ELECTRICITY at all and despite the staff being transparent about this problem, what they didn’t tell us is that EVERY other hostel in the town has a generator. So as well as having no wifi, no fan and no light, there were holes in the mosquito nets and the windows didn’t close - so the night was hot and mosquito-infested, not to mention the incredibly loud party music from the next door hostel. So much for the ‘tranquility of the jungle’ which would have been the only benefit of this hostel from hell.
The worst part about the whole place is that it isn’t in the centre of town like most of the hostels in Capurganá, but instead just past a pool of standing water full of SEWAGE (see photo) from which the mosquitoes could easily reach the hostel. The path was unlit at night and smells disgusting.
We had to leave after one night following such a horrific experience, however the staff refused to give us a refund for the other night we had originally booked because ‘we didn’t check out at 10am precisely’.
HONESTLY, DO NOT STAY HERE.
If you’re going to Capurganá, there are plenty of better options that aren’t online. It’s scary to arrive at a remote location without a hostel already booked but honestly it is much better in Capurganá to book accommodation after arriving so that you can see exactly what you’re signing up for. We changed to La Playita hostel and it was perfect.

Amazing staff and vibes
The place itself is located in the jungle, which gives it some authentic peace. However it is extremely hot and humid and there's no AC, which makes it very difficult. Thanks to Joanna and the staff, the stay there was awesome! Very recommended.

Worst hostel I've ever stayed in
Firstly, this hostel is far away from the port and the central part of Capurgana so be prepared to trek through the forest to a shack in the woods with no entrance. It's roasting hot with no air conditioning at all, lots of mosquitos and the windows do not shut in the bedrooms. The bathroom was awful and so so dirty and dark. There is no wifi or phone signal and the staff are unhelpful and never even there. We woke up in the morning to a giant crash, as this hostel is all wood there is no noise control and you can hear everything around you. I would never advise to stay here, we left early as we couldn't face another night in this shack from hell.
