Visiting the Yukon!

The staff is wonderful and very accommodating to all. Food was very good and open dining room allowed good conversation with other guests.
We did the dog sledding and snowmobiling, which was right outside our rooms. The dog sledding was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Snowmobiling was a narrow trail dodging tree branches and so fun!
Trails provided a nice afternoon walk in the most beautiful, quiet environment.
The cold weather clothing provided was perfect for our stay and didn’t have to pack it for the trip!
Cabins were warm & cozy, plenty of snacks to enjoy.

Quiet, beautiful place with all the comfort you need.

It is a quiet place, ideal to start your holidays.
Our cottage was top furnished and really cuddly.
It has a few hiking trails that are signposted by them. The Sucker Bay (5.4 km) hike is mostly through the forest and past a clearing, but in the end you arrive at the “sea”. It is beautiful there by the lake, just fantastic.
Staff very friendly and accommodating.
The food in the restaurant is excellent. There are some dishes from Europe.
We had a breakfast buffet. It had everything your heart could desire. Tea, coffee, milk, cereal, porige, scrambled eggs, bacon, rösti, yogurth, various breads with ankens and spreads.
We can highly recommend the accommodation and restaurant.

Magical!

Everything about our stay here was 5 stars, from the airport pickup/ drop off, perfect cabin, great food, dog sledding, and snowmobiling adventures. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. This is a small lodge, so you really feel like you’re in your own little private part of the world; we rarely saw other guests. Our cabin was nice and warm, modern, and equipped with a hot water kettle which was much appreciated. We brought our own winter gear, but the lodge does have very nice gear and snowshoes to rent during your stay. Isla, the lodge’s very sweet Golden Retiever, was such fun to play with! We had an amazing time here and are already talking about coming back next year.

Super relaxing glorious spot

Super in all respects. This is a lovely place to stay. Log cabins perfectly done with attention to detail. Family run lovely staff and food excellent.
Can canoe or kayak on lake (saw bald eagles) or walk.
Only recommendation ten miles along dirt track so don't plan to pop in and out stay there once arrived and buy any food etc that you want in advance.

A winter wonderland ✨️

We had a great time staying at the resort in winter 2024. The Southern Lakes Resort is about 1.5 hours drive from Whitehorse. We were greeted with excellent service, including convenient pick-up and drop-off from/to the airport. Our cozy chalet was the perfect retreat, complete with a daily breakfast and a delightful three-course dinner every evening. The food was exceptional and added a special touch to our experience. The resort was very well-equipped, providing all the winter gear we needed for our outdoor adventures, from warm clothing to boots and snowshoes. It was incredibly convenient and made us feel well-prepared for the elements.
One of the highlights of our trip was the thrilling dogsledding adventure. The snow-covered landscape was breathtaking, and to our delight, we even spotted a moose in the wild, a truly magical moment. We also enjoyed a winter walk on the frozen Tagish Lake, which was both fun and peaceful. Unfortunately, we didn’t catch the Northern Lights during our stay, but the serene winter surroundings more than made up for it. We left with wonderful memories and a true appreciation for the beauty and tranquillity of this region.
