Beautiful resort in a breathtaking location

Went here with family, and we had an amazing time. Everything on the grounds was absolutely beautiful, and the staff was incredibly helpful! That pool had an absolutely gorgeous view of the sunset. I would also add that no stay is complete without taking home some of the cachaça brewed on the grounds! Would love to return.

Beautiful place, but not recommend for holding events

The Pousada Chão de Minas is a beautiful place, well cared for and with attentive staff. We celebrated my mother's 70 years, my father's 80 years and anticipated their 50 years of marriage. We occupy 13 of the hostel's 14 rooms. The party was exciting and the environment contributed to it.
However, I do not recommend the space for events.
The party hall is not accessible. It has an extensive staircase and does not have adequate structure for people with reduced mobility. There is an alternative passage, but it is restricted and has been released only to a few specific guests. This is not a regular or structured approach. In a celebration whose main audience was made up of older people, this generated discomfort and concern.
At the end of the party, even with extra paid hours and all the family stayed in the guesthouse, we were instructed to immediately remove all meals and drinks from the lounge. It was not allowed to keep anything stored until the next day (as we were all in the hostel), on the grounds that there would be no employee to open the space. The closing of the night ended in tension and weariness, when it should have been just a continuation of the family celebration. Lack of common sense.
The place is beautiful and pleasant. But the conduct of owner management, especially in terms of accessibility and operational flexibility, made the experience difficult. For those who want to hold family events, especially with the elderly, I recommend evaluating these points carefully.

Bad welcome from the owner.

Unfortunately, although the place is wonderful and the structure very beautiful, my experience was impaired by the care of the owner, Marcela.
I held in the guest house the celebration of my mother’s 70 years and my father’s 80 years, an extremely special moment for our family. I expected at least cordiality and welcome — especially since it was such a significant celebration.
However, the owner’s posture was excessively inflexible, cold and unacceptable. Lacked sympathy, availability and sensitivity to understand the context of the event. At various times, communication was rigid and uncomfortable.
It's really a pity, because space has a lot of potential. But care is an essential part of the experience — and unfortunately, in that respect, it leaves much to be desired.
I would never come back.

Incredible experience

More than a lodging, a real experience, beautiful place, impeccable cleanliness, polite and helpful staff, a wonderful pool, perfect breakfast, the rooms are beautiful and comfortable, impossible to contain the compliments, I really hope to have the opportunity to return!!

Ideal place to rest!

Beautiful place! Cottage guy! Delicious breakfast with handmade products. Extremely clean! First-class hotel bed linen and super soft pillows. It is 20 minutes from the center of Ouro Preto; but it is quite quiet. The coffee schedule is smart, as the Inn prefers good service. The pool is beautiful! It has a small gym that serves the guests well. The house professionals are extremely kind. There are several spaces for reading, which prevents confinement in the room. Ah! The showers are wonderful.
