Hirschen - Fine Hotel, Restaurant & Spa

Hirschen - Fine Hotel, Restaurant & Spa is located in Schwarzenberg in the Bregenzerwald. It consists of the main building, built in 1757 in traditional wooden style, the forest house and bathhouse, which were completely rebuilt and modernized in 2024. The Hirschen offers an award-winning gourmet restaurant, a new spa area with saunas and an ecologically heated outdoor pool, as well as gardens. The historic main building houses the restaurant as well as individually designed rooms and suites in country house style, furnished with wooden floors and wooden furniture. The Hirschen Homes are located in the neighboring building, the Wälderhaus, 98 ft away. In addition to bedrooms and bathrooms, all Hirschen Homes also have a kitchen-living room. Parking spaces in the underground car park and outdoors are free. Free WiFi is available in all areas. The hotel focuses on sustainability and therefore offers 2 charging stations for electric cars. Dornbirn can be reached in 20 minutes by car.

That's where I want to go again!

Beautiful house, very successful symbiosis of old and new, rural and urban at the same time, a welcoming atmosphere, delicious food, great wines, a room to feel good (I had the duplex suite with large bathroom). The Waldness evening with Philipp Lingg and the Nino from Vienna was a special experience. Plus the exciting architecture all around Schwarzenberg and the intense colors of the Bregenzerwald landscape, including February fog. That's where I want to go again! By the way, but still strikingly good: the house is blown through by an enchanting scent, a mixture of pine wood and - yes, what else? -, maybe I will find out next time.

es war uns eine Freude, Sie im Hirschen zu Gast zu haben! Schön, zu hören, dass Sie sich rundherum wohlgefühlt und die Tage im Bregenzerwald genossen haben. Die Wälderness-Abende sind in der Tat etwas ganz Besonderes - die eigenen Ansprüche für das Programm im nächsten Frühjahr 2027 sind ziemlich hoch ;).
Unser Hausduft, eigens für den Hirschen kreiert, hat demnach auch Ihre Sinne berührt. Sie können diesen als Duftspender oder ganz neu auch als Kerze bei uns erwerben.

Simply wonderfully beautiful and pure relaxation

A beautiful hotel with very modern rooms and fantastic service. Truly, the entire staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing; everything tastes absolutely wonderful. The bathhouse with the saunas is also a dream.

Nice old house with flair, some but disappointing.

There is a newly built bathhouse with saunas and beautiful relaxation rooms. The outdoor pool is also very nice.
However, there is no indication in advance that there is no direct access from the hotel to the bathhouse. Especially in winter it is not pleasant to walk over in your bathrobe, especially if you have to go out to the main entrance and past the ski bus stop.
A small hint would have been enough so that you can still pack sneakers or similar and not have to boot with the winter boots to the SpA.
For the limited bistro menu in the restaurant on Sun and Mon there is a credit of EUR 20,-- per person, which is only chargeable for drinks in the evening instead of for the whole day of the stay.
For a price of EUR 7 for a cake in the afternoon, the type and quality should have been better.
The furniture in room 6 was not the same as for a comfort room. Table, chairs and bed frames were not "used" according to age but damaged. Especially since the room overlooks beautiful old furniture and comfortable chairs with upholstery.

Wir haben auf unserer Website - so denken wir - die Lage unserer drei Häuser gut sichtbar gemacht und erklärt. Dennoch haben wir Ihre Anregung ernst genommen und einen weiteren Hinweis darauf in unsere Korrespondenz aufgenommen. Auch für die Einlösbarkeit des Credits für die eingeschränkte Bistrokarte werden wir intern eine praktikable Lösung finden. Schade, dass die Tartelettes Ihren Ansprüchen nicht genügen konnten. Immerhin ist unsere Patisserie eine der 50 besten in der DACH-Region?
Wir werden unseren Betriebsurlaub nutzen, um einige Veränderungen und Neuerungen im ganzen Haus vorzunehmen. Dazu gehört auch ein dezentes Facelifting in einigen Zimmern im Stammhaus.

Very good hotel, with very good cuisine

again at the Waldness im Hirschen, incl. Overnight. It was very good again. Room in the main house - large room with spacious shower. I'm fine.

It feels like home

As part of the Schubertiades we stayed at Hirschen twice this year.
The setting is neat, the lounge welcoming, you feel good there. The restaurant only offers a limited menu, but of excellent quality. The staff are mostly female, friendly and attentive and greet you by name.
It's extremely pleasant. 2 points could be improved. First of all, the parking lot. Finding a place is like a treasure hunt, even a rodeo. To be improved urgently. The other desirable improvement concerns breakfast. Management is fixated on wasted butter and jam. A little more generosity in the quantities offered would greatly improve the image of a boutique, pleasant and welcoming hotel that the hotel gives itself and which it will achieve 100% if these small defects are corrected. We will return next year and hope to give a rating of 5/5 to this otherwise very friendly and charming establishment.
