Set on 50 acres, alongside the Hawkesbury River. Wisemans Retreat offers rooms with free WiFi. Free onsite parking is provided. Our 25m pool and baby pool are both open for summer .

A peaceful and beautiful escape to Wisemans Ferry. The surroundings were stunning, and it was the perfect getaway. Excellent value for money. We will definitely be returning.

I have stayed here before and it was great. Unfortunately this time i felt like i was given the worst room in the resort. Checking into room 106 abutting the servo next door i could smell a sewerage type odour. The bathroom door didnt close and there was a foot long gap in the bottom where slats were missing. The toiletries in shower had not been topped up. I ended up just showering and changing going out to dinner (elsewhere) and on my return i was met with the blaring music coming from the bowlo across the road. As i had only minimal drinks at dinner i decided to cut my losses and drive the 40km back home. A real shame and a very expensive shower to say the least.

Very 'tired' but well located
This place is very well located on the river but very 'tired' and in need of TLC. We booked on-line late in the day, shortly before arriving. On arrival at around 5pm, we called the after hours number. We were told no-one was available to assist till around 6.30 and were directed to a master key in a service room. We were told a room number, and when we opened the room it was clearly the wrong one as it was unmade. We were then redirected to another room. (we could have opened any room door!!...security??). The manager still hadn't arrived to deliver our room key by 7pm, so we couldn't turn lights /power on and it was getting dark. The room price was advertised as including a bottle of wine. When the manager finally arrived, around 7.15 , with a key, she had forgotten the wine and had to return again. A 'bottle' of wine was only a 375mm half bottle...false advertising.
The lock in our screen door was broken so we couldn't leave the sliding door open. The sliding window was broken and had to be propped to stay open.
The pool looks in need of repairs.
Great spot, lots of potential, we had a nice time ..... but service and maintenance pretty lacking.

Lovely grounds, great location. "River view" rooms not actually "view", more like "aspect". Nice big pool, good BBQ facilities. It would be great if there was info in the room about local attractions, especially as the Wi-Fi wasn't great and there's no Vodafone reception in the valley.

Holiday getaway with average room quality
Recently stayed at this motel for 10 nights in Room 501.
When we arrived, I first noticed that the desk with the television was covered with dust and obviously hadn’t been cleaned recently.
Only 3 drawers and one side of cupboard to store clothes, as bar fridge takes up the other part of cupboard.
Insufficient storage space for clothes when we had 3 suitcases full of clothes.
The shower recess door was covered with black mould.
We couldn’t leave the bathroom window open to air the bathroom as it had a big hole in it and mosquitos are a problem in this area.
The air conditioner in the room started rattling loudly in the middle of the night one night, so we couldn’t leave it running at night whilst sleeping.
The swimming pool isn’t heated, so we could only swim a few times as was too cold.
The roller blinds in the room don’t block out the sun very well on the sides and you get woken up really early from the light coming into the room.
The swimming pool was clean, but needs repairing, with missing tiles and badly worn paint on the bottom of the pool.
The gardens are well maintained.
There are two tennis courts, a pool table and a table tennis table in the conference centre.
Not much to do otherwise as this retreat.
