Majellan Lodge

We had a group of 10 adults and three kids aged 2,3 and 4 staying in Majellan Lodge for two nights. The accommodation worked well for our large group as we each had our own ensuite. Large lounge room, dining room and back deck with a bbq also suited us well. The farm activities were great and the kids were able to experience so much - feeding alpacas, donkeys, chickens, rabbits, collecting eggs, milking a cow, riding on a tractor, pony rides, cooking damper on a stick, cracking a whip and throwing a boomerang. Blair and Jacqui were so welcoming, friendly and informative as were Molly and Ella. They were all amazing with the kids and the kids didn’t want to go home! We also had a go at archery and took the canoes out. Lovely couple of days for a bunch of city slickers. Only an hour and a half from home was also very appealing. Would highly recommend.

Camping trip with the family

Camping with amenities (toilet and showers) plus farm activities. 24 hour access. Horse riding available, canoeing available and archery. Would recommend camping especially for first time campers. Close to Sydney and close to local shops at Picton and Thirlmere. No powered camp sites available but numerous cabins to choose from.
Highly recommended we will be back to enjoy the farm again.

Thanks very much for coming down to the farm, we really do place emphasis on the farm experience which adds another dimension to a camping adventure.

We enjoyed the hospitality and traditional Farm Experience

What a great few days we had, time to digital detox and just enjoy time with each other. We booked Tiny house and was shown the way by the lovely Chantel - process simple easy and friendly. Tiny house is tiny, suited myself & son, beds comfy but due to the mobile air/heater not much room for your bags. modern clean & had all we needed. We enjoyed being city folk trying to light a decent fire. We were located with a nice walk to the playground and Dining Hall. I was so happy not to have to cook, meals were delicious and served promptly, with the team happy to help and serve. service with a smile. Meals are all the same, kids smaller, and served promptly, food was great, (if you're after Arty Farty million $$ lobster, stay elsewhere,) we were really happy with all meals. Sadly due to Covid, no tractor rides, but we did use our legs & walk to the animals, We enjoyed feeding the animals & pony rides. The nights were cold, our tiny house had plenty of blankets, but we needed the heater over night, the mobile aircon/heater sounded like a jumbo jet, and having to release water out of unit every 2hours, is annoying, we were grateful for the smaller heater and used it instead.
We had a wonderful time, and loved the space and all that the Farm Stay offered, special mention to the Tan dog, and her hilarious tennis action, I can't describe how funny she is, swapping sides for the serve, occasionally catching a ball, if you want to play tennis, expect a 4 legged "ball dog" at the net.

Hey Shellie, that was a great weekend for sure. You captured the essence of what a visit to our family farm should be, you engaged, sought out activities and soaked up all that we have to offer. I'm pleased you also recognised our food offer, much of what was offered comes from our own farm and surrounding farms, we're really into the food miles thing whilst accepting that we're not like a food specialist, simple done well is what we strive for. Hope you can make it back down here some time, stay safe and safe travels. By the way the dog is Pearl (my wife's dog) my dog is Archie he doesn't play as much tennis. Cheers.

Chapel stay

We stayed in the Chapel accommodation for 3 nights. I was impressed with the recent updates to the Chapel accommodation, including a new kitchen, air-conditioning, furniture, fans, TV, and comfortable beds. We enjoyed the pool and the tractor ride to see the animals was great. We selected the catered option and if I had my time again I would self-cater. While the dining hall was nice, and the cook was just lovely, I feel a little badly done by and stressed about how much we spent to be catered for, and then the food we got, which was equivalent to school camp food. We could have dined on luxurious fare if we had self-catered using the same amount we paid to be catered for. To be fair though, I could have asked when selecting the catered option what the food typically was, and how many meals it included (3 main meals). That aside, the staff were lovely, and I'm sad that they and the farm have been so afflicted by drought.

We are so grateful you could support us during this difficult time, we are approaching three years of drought and all that keeps us going are visitors who want to experience life on a working farm. Engagement is what it is all about we're really passionate about all things farming and just love it when families want to know what it's all about.
We've never been a foodie type place we aim to do simple country style meals well, sorry this didn't meet your expectations. Our full time chef left early December our new one comes in last week of January, we've tried hard between us to manage but chef's just know where to put the garnish. Hope you can make it back sometime, perhaps when the drought has broken and you will see even more smiling farmers and animals. Take care.

Excellent holiday for families!

We had a lovely stay at Mobray Farms last month. Our three little ones enjoyed every minute of it and are still talking about all the animals. The food was excellent, the cottage was comfortable and it was a very pleasant experience. We plan on going back for another holiday in a couple of months.

The kids really get into it, I find it a bit encouraging in this era of digital distractions that once in the wide open spaces with animals left right and centre a child is never happier. Thank you so much for choosing this experience for your family and that you're going to come back is the biggest thrill for us, thank you.
