Bespoke and comfortable
It feels like you are entering a private club as you phone the private number to gain entry to this bespoke hotel. The rooms blend the heritage building with modern styled comfort (Oh the comfort of the bed!). The location is fantastic - Lucky Chan's around the corner is a must. Highly recommended if you like a bit of character in your hotel experience.

Choose another option. Dirty, facilities do not work.
DO NOT STAY HERE. Shower was very dirty around edges. Once water was flowing little bits of brown scum floated around my feet. Reverse cycle aircon did not work. Room was very cold. Despite many promises from management this was not fixed during my 5 night stay. On day one I was promised an extra blanket, I did not get this until day 3. I was also promised a partial refund because of this. I still have not received this.

DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR AND DON'T STAY HERE!
We arrived and they hadn't given us the entry code (there's no reception, so you need a code to get in and another code to get your key). We stayed outside on a 40-degree Celsius day for 30 minutes, while ringing the bell (nobody answered) and calling the number provided and being on hold. When we finally got in, we got to our room (we paid a bit extra to have a bigger room with a desk as I work online) and the A/C was not working. We spent the next 4 hours trying to get a response from that external reception. The girl on the phone, Belle, was very nice and helpful, but she didn't have the power to do much, as she had to constantly double-check everything with the property manager, which made everything EXTREMELY slow. They moved us to a tiny room, where we refused to stay, and after insisting they eventually moved us to another room as big as the one we booked but without a desk (at this point, we didn't really care anymore, it was 10 pm so we just wanted to sleep). Why did that take so long??? Also, in that new room, the fridge was nasty and smelled (we cleaned it ourselves because even though we complained, nobody came to clean it), and the kettle was broken. We stayed there for 3 nights, but our plans changed and we needed to extend one extra night. Even though we were very disappointed with this property, we didn't want to repack, move, and unpack somewhere else for only one night, so we asked if we could extend our stay. They said their policy is a 2-night minimum stay. So they have the ridiculous policy of not accepting only one extra night, even though they had plenty of rooms available. We called Booking.com and a very helpful woman tried to convince them to let us book 2 nights and then they could refund one of them, but they kept refusing. How does that make sense? They don't need to send housekeeping or anything if we just extend one more night in the same room we've been staying for the past 3 nights. Also, there was no interest from the property manager to compensate for all these inconveniences, which makes it even more disappointing. Do yourselves a favor and don't stay here if you don't want to have an awful experience.

Poor customer service and no mobile reception in basement rooms
We booked my daughter in for a week, but found there was no mobile reception in her room which she required as on call at work. We made 3 calls over 12 hours to the hotel number asking for an upgrade to a room with reception (which we were prepared to pay for). Each time we were told they would get back to us, but there was no response by midday, the day following booking in so had to leave and find other accommodation. That afternoon, over 24 hours after checking in they came back to us agreeing that there was 'poor'reception' and offering an upgarde. We could not do that as had already moved but the hotel refused any refund.
So....extremely poor customer service and lack of reception in some rooms which is totally unacceptable.

Horrible
Was horrible. We were in room 1 and the reception phone rang alll night long and kept us up. An alarm kept going off. And to top it off, we used 2 of the white towels and because they had the tiniest smudge on them they charged us $34 for the two photos below! Wth!
Would not recommend. And if you do, I suggest you take your own bloody towels because the smallest smudge will cost you $34 bloody dollars.
