We loved this centrally located hotel in the heart of Munich, so close to the beautiful Marienplatz.
The staff was thoughtful and helpful, and the breakfast was wonderful.
Our room, though small, had everything we needed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5-day stay at this beautiful hotel.

Amazing location between the opera house and hoffbrauhaus. I had a good experience but my sister upgraded to a suite which was nice but hard to locate and harder to access. They failed to tell her about locked gates and failed to provide the special key needed on sundays only. If I were her I would have left a bad review because of the number of times she needed assistance accessing her room.

We had an apartment plus a single room and they were together behind a single outer door, which was absolutely lovely. The breakfasts were superb. Be sure to get the freshly squeezed juice. The staff were always very helpful. And of course, the location is outstanding, it’s a great base of operations for activities in the Old Town. Highly recommend.

Terrible quality/price ratio!

We booked a superior triple room instead of a comfort room to ensure we had decent living space, but I cannot believe this is the category assigned to us; the room is truly microscopic, and the third bed is a cot placed under the television. There is no space to open a suitcase or even to move around the bed. When we asked them to check if it was perhaps a mistake, they mumbled that the room was indeed a superior but did not show us a comfort room to understand the difference. The cost is truly excessive, and the quality/price ratio is terrible. Do not be fooled by the photos on the website; they are all taken with a wide-angle lens.

Regarding your request to view the lower room category, we would like to kindly clarify that on that particular day we unfortunately did not have a comparable room available to show you. Efficient, comfortable hotel situated in the perfect location

We recently stayed at the Hotel an der Oper for our visit to Oktoberfest. The check in was smooth, and we were quite pleased with our room which was large for a big city. Some of the room appointments included a fully stocked pay refrigerator and snacks along with a basket of personal care amenities and wash cloths. The ample lounge area had a small couch and several chairs. There was a cozy Italian restaurant attached to the hotel. We ate there for breakfast several times. What impressed me was the ability to get a cappuccino made with alternative milk. We also tried the hotel laundry service which was reasonably priced and had quick turnaround. I didn’t see a gym facility or pool, however the convenience of being in walking distance of one block to the Marienplatz more than compensated. We used the reception extensively and they were friendly and spoke perfect English. I would stay at the hotel again. Tip: The hotel elevator is the typical two person size with room for small suitcases only.
